Karen Doyle Fine Art
Karen Doyle
Karen is an award-winning professional Fine Artist living in the South Bay of Los Angeles. She paints luminous, colorful landscapes of her local surroundings and places she visits.
Karen grew up in the California Bay Area and is influenced by the light and color of the west coast. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Visual Arts from UC San Diego, studied in Santa Barbara, and then moved to Oregon where she spent over three decades working for Nike, Inc. During her time in Oregon, Karen continued to pursue her passion for visual art and obtained a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Fine Art from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1998. Karen has studied under numerous influential artist mentors including Thomas Jefferson Kitts, Aimee Erickson, and the late Karl Dempwolf. In 2015, she joined LPAPA, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and focused almost exclusively on plein air painting for ten years. Prior to pandemic closures, Karen attended the Plein Air Convention & Expo from 2016-2019 where she connected with many peers. In 2023, Karen relocated from Oregon to California and now resides on the picturesque Palos Verdes Peninsula, fulfilling her dream of having a second career as an artist in California.
After over 30 years of service at Nike, Inc. where painting was a constant yet part-time pursuit, Karen retired from corporate life in 2024 and immersed herself in the Southern California art community. She is an active Associate Artist member of the California Art Club (CAC) and the The Pacific Arts Group (PAG) of the Palos Verdes Art Center (PVAC) in Rancho Palos Verdes. Karen is President of Destination: Art in Torrance, CA, a nonprofit arts organization with artist studios, gallery exhibitions and art classes. She previously served on the board of The Artists' Studio of Palos Verdes (TASPV) and showed her work in the gallery and gift shop at PVAC. Karen is represented by Diversions Fine Art in Manhattan Beach.
